“queer” can also refer to gender though? 

calling trans women who exclusively are attracted to men “queer” is degendering

I [me personally, idk about anyone else] don’t refer to anyone as any identity unless they explicitly state that they are that thing but that doesn’t change the fact that trans falls under the “queer” umbrella and there’s definitely heterosexual trans women who still identify as queer and I feel like saying that they’re not queer [on an individual basis, not all people in said group] just because they’re straight is erasing their identity 

“trans” is not part of a queer umbrella. there are trans people who are not queer. as a rule, these people are straight.
