I don’t tolerate this shit. He even went on to say “but men can be raped too!” in one of his comments. Needless to say, I unfriended him.

tw: rape, rape culture

Trans men get just as much hate as trans women do, for exactly the same reasons, just saying.

Trans men get a lot of hate on their own (especially in the homosexual dating scene), sure,…

so uh

im not one to get offended

but yeah man. you just fucking offended me.

we dont “gain male privilege. you know what happens to us when we out ourselves? cis men dont fucking like that. you know what happens? they fucking rape us and tell us “you just need a man and youll be fixed” “youre not a real man, let me remind you youre a woman”.

dont fucking tell me we dont have as much issues as you do because i will fucking blow you away with what we go through.

shut the fuck up and deal. you think we dont have problems? its because we dont go complaining about it.

I acknowledge the fact that trans guys have problems. I’d be an idiot not to. But you need to understand that the reason trans women get more shit is because, well, women get more shit. Transgender women (especially trans women of color) are incredibly prone to being assaulted, and well, killed. Here’s how it basically goes, from the perspective of a rapist:

He sees the woman and moves in for the assault. When he catches her and begins to disrobe her, he realizes, what the fuck, that’s a penis! She’s a GUY!! His sexuality has been threatened. “I thought this dude was hot!" In his mind, he must eliminate that which questioned his sexuality. That’s what leads to trans women getting killed.

Transgender males don’t get labeled as fetishists or anything of the sort.  There’s a lot of negative stigma to the concept of "man in woman’s clothing”. This is why it tends to take trans women longer to go full-time, even after they start hormones. It took me and some of my friends YEARS before we were confident enough to go outside presenting as female all the time. Remember, “tranny” is an insult made for use against trans women.

Trans women face a lot more institutionalized discrimination because we cannot live up to the objectifying standards placed on women by society.  If you think we complain more often, well, that’s because we have more to complain about.

I try not to crap over the trans guy experience, and I’m sorry that my post offended you, I just want people to be more aware of the trans woman side of things.

TW: Discussion of cissexism, rape. But just a weekly reminder.

breewriteswords:

Just a weekly reminder that if you

  • refer to “designated male at birth privilege” instead of “male privilege”
  • state that trans women have privilege because they are “male socialized”
  • start to go on some pseudo-scientific diatribe about how penises are inherently oppressive
  • start a statement with “I’m not saying trans women aren’t women, [but]/[I’m just saying]/[you just have to admit]…”
  • state that a woman who does not have a vaginal opening “can’t be raped”
  • wish to have a “cis women’s only” safe space
  • ever under any circumstances use the term “woman-born-woman”

Then you are one of the many reasons feminism today has a bad name. You are pushing people who truly have something meaningful to say away. You are silencing the experiences of those more oppressed than you. You are what you claim to hate.
