they simply don’t mesh with people aesthetically here. Like tons of other stuff. As much as I think robots are cool a lot of people just don’t. I agree tho people should check out more stuff but I don’t see it happening

the difference there is I *want* people to watch the stuff I like. I want them to experience mecha anime and games like I do, because it’s GOOD. I want more people to talk about the characters in J-Decker, the massively tearjerker ending of GaoGaiGar Final, and how awesome the Huckebein is. I want mecha as we know it to escape from its niche.

Even if they’re retreading old ideas, they’re doing something DIFFERENT with them. Remember, Star Wars wasn’t exactly the most original film. It just took those old ideas and presented them in a new and radical way.
