There’s also the issue of the Transformers being pushed to the side and robbed of any personality: The obsession with hawking LeBouf and Mannequ- I mean Megan Fox to the detriment of the TITULAR ROBOTS says a lot the films.
not to mention all the last-minute name changes that prove how little fucks they give about the robots.
However, I don’t mind the military presence. It well, makes things more plausible, and I understand that it’s difficult to make a movie (from a budget and selling standpoint) that’s nothing but robots.
But frankly, there’s a lot here that makes me go, “I don’t care just show me robots blowing stuff up.”
I remember every single bit of news and just how we were all crushed FUCK. THE BAYFORMERS.
The biggest problem with these movies is how they horribly misrepresent the franchise. I mean yeah, Transformers isn’t exactly the deepest franchise as far as fiction goes but well, there’s a lot more to it than tits and dick jokes, that’s for sure.
'ey Sophie, I figured you'd be the perfect person to go to for this question: I'm really interested in getting into Star Trek. Both my uncles were huge Trekkies, I saw TNG, DS9 and whatever else in random bits growing up. I loved the Abrams movie and I'll be seeing Into Darkness tomorrow, but I have no idea where I should start if I want to look into the pre-reboot stuff. Any suggestions?
This is such a tough question for me, because I’m very much a “you watch it all or you don’t bother” type of person. My advice would be to start with some of my recommended episodes of TOS, then move onto the movies. Here’s what I consider Required Viewing from Star Trek: The Original Series:
and, for shits and giggles
I’d come up with a TNG list, but really, you can easily just watch Skin of Evil, Conspiracy, Q Who?, and Measure of a Man from the first two seasons, then just move onto Season 3 from there.
