The Hind End of Space

Mini-review of the old(er) Aoshima Gohkin Neo Getter Robo. It’s a neat toy, but not much for articulation (it’s mostly made of metal, what do you expect). Makes for a great display piece, especially if you have another Getter for him to shake hands with (he comes with an open hand for Shin Getter to do so). He’s one of the few modern gohkin figures to actually have spring-loaded missiles, something you don’t see often these days.

The figure comes with two sets of forearms, one in diecast and one that houses the chain knuckles. Take care not to get the chains stuck in the arms like I did… I ended up having to take the arms apart to get it out. He comes with two open palms and a plastic lightning bold piece for his PLASMA THUNDER finisher move, but the bolt is kind of underwhelming and would be much better on a smaller kit.

In spite of some gripes, it’s a nice display piece. He’s definitely one of my favorite Getters, if not my #1 favorite. He can still be found for cheap (hint hint: Amazon) and I’d say he’s worth it if you’re a fan.
