When you shove alternative identies and make everyone trans just because you can (or in the name of inclusion, which is not nearly as progressive as it sounds), it inevitably romanticizes Being Trans*. This is how things become trendy. Being transgender or bigender or agender or whatever is not glamorous or romantic. It should not be a trend, or a fad, to make characters have alternative gender identities.

Trans* inclusion in media is great. Trans* characters, when written tastefully, are great. But making a character trans* so you can have something to identify more personally with is very, very bad. Find other traits to identify with. Being trans* is literally just being a gender, and that’s not something that should be applicable to headcanon the way other traits can be. It should never be a focal point outside of a story dealing solely with some kind of transition or coming out. 

Being transgender or genderqueer/fluid or anything else is not for your fucking amusement. Those are people, those are humans, and making their character about being trans* is disgusting. 

Stop romanticizing all these characters being trans*, because it’s not romantic. It’s offensive.
