Holy dog shite, I just read it and that was ghastly. I admit I’m ripping it out of context, but “We need to make it a safer place for straight, cisgender men." made me shoot diet coke through my nose.
That’s also not that far removed from context? Her point seemed to be that trans women, in stating that we are women, are leaving behind men who are read as “failing at being men”, but, like, seriously? It’s not like trans women have all made it, and I really don’t think that any men need to be prioritized over trans women. If what is best for trans women ends up hurting some men, I don’t care.
