The problem with the first Turn A Gundam movie is the fact that you’re thrown into so many scenes with little or no context. For example: during the first Moonrace attack, Kihel is at the ball with her mom, her mom faints, and the next scene IMMEDIATELY has her in her normal clothes, with Gwen at a radio station. It’s quite frustrating, and the removal of Will Game makes Teteth Halleh’s motivations seem completely bizarre.
I won’t call the first movie a mess, it’s just rushed. You want a mess of a Gundam movie, watch the second Zeta movie. I’ve seen that movie like three times and I still can’t tell you what happened during it…
But, it’s time for the second movie, and if my memory serves, this one was a VAST improvement.
