Interested at ALL in the Zeon rally?
There’s two particular characters that I’d kinda like to highlight.
The easiest character to pick for this is Bernie from Gundam 0080. Why? We HAVE the outfit for that! It’s about a men’s small/med but would also fit a bound down woman. All you need is a blonde wig, some boots and gloves, and to message tumblr user relenawarcraft to see if you’d fit it. Literally no sewing required, and if you haven’t seen 0080 it’s just a 6 ep OVA. You can totally watch that.
The other one I’d like to hint at people that’s not an obvious choice is to consider joining the Zabi family… as Kycilia. Her outfit is really simple compared to many of the other Zeon outfits, she’s got interaction with some of the characters we have, and unlike a lot of other characters (since UC Gundam art style often does have distinct facial features) you can super easily cover up your whole face except your eyes. Bonus: unlike some of the other characters, she shows up in the classic series, so this might be an option for newbies who look at how many series there are and go “but I could never fully catch up in time for Katsucon and still make the costume!”
So yeah. It’s not all super complicated designs and there’s more options than you might think; the list does have to be updated but don’t worry this is going to be super fun and if you’re at all interested there should be a way to make it work. Hell, just like the original post says, we even 100% don’t mind joining as a background character in a Zeon uniform! It doesn’t matter your height or face or size or anything. I swear.
