Metal Armor Dragonar (機甲戦記ドラグナ)
In 1987, Sunrise produced Metal Armor Dragonar, intending it to be a spiritual successor to the recently completed ZZ Gundam. By making it unconnected to Gundam, they hoped that it would be able to lure new fans to the mecha genre. It’s largely unnotable save for laying the groundwork for the Gundam AU and for its highly impressive OP1 animated singlehandedly by the legendary Masami Obari.
It’s also notable for having the most catchy theme song ever, and also the worst fansubs ever.
Crabstick don’t count as fansub
afaik crabstick is all we’ve got. I think brosubs did the first two episodes and forgot about it? It’s a shame, I really like the mech designs. I suppose perhaps it’s just a bit too generic a series to be worth fansubbing?
If someone might pick it, its might spark new interest but as for now some anon who rapidly get attacked by subninja for months between each release can’t do that much
also most people only care for on-going so its gonna fade away like goldran and da-gran
It would probably help if it was featured in another SRW. I remember there was quite a lot of interest in Tobikage after it was featured in UX.
Dragonar’s HKs really aren’t hat bad. They’re FAR FROM Crabstick tier. I watched the whole series that way.
but yes, we need more Dragonar in SRW.
