So what if the TV show was corny with lousy special effects, so what if William Shatner overreacted to everything, so what if their 5 year mission only lasted 3 years, so what if Spock smiled once in a while, so what if Bones wasn’t a car mechanic, elevator operator or engineer, so what if Scotty said he couldn’t hold the warp engines together any longer, in every episode

These people and actors kept our dreams alive and the Star Trek legacy alive, until another generation of actors and people came along.

This is the final cruise of the Starship Enterprise under my command. This ship and her history will shortly become the care of another crew. To them and their posterity will we commit our future. They will continue the voyages we have begun, and journey to all the undiscovered countries, boldly going where no man… where no one has gone before. Captain James T. No other television or series or series of films has become as engrained in our global society and culture as Star Trek has.
