Most of the Camilles that I’m aware of are French. :o
Camille is a man’s name in French too and there are some famous French Camilles that are male, but because of the places I’ve lived I just run into more Hispanic Camilles. French and Spanish are both Latin languages so this is probably just a European thing — who knows why Americans tend to name women “Camille” instead of men

Camille Saint-Saëns was the first Camille I’d ever heard of, yeah. It’s totally a European style, but… I feel like the K thing is another example of how nobody spells Isaac with a Y.
