Okay everyone. PSA time.
I’m pretty open about being trans. Here, on facebook, wherever. Pretty much everywhere except school/work.
That said, there’s one thing that needs to be stated:
Do not out me.
If I want someone to know that I’m trans, *I* and I alone am the one to tell them. I don’t care if it’s just passive, a reference, whatever. It’s not your job, because it’s not your life. If it’s something I posted and you reblogged it, hey, go right ahead, the fact that I’m trans IS IMPORTANT there and I want to get a message out.. If we’re out drinking with your buddies, the topic is off limits.
Basically, what I’m getting at here is unless I’m the one initiating the discussion/conversation, the subject of me being trans is a taboo subject.
Exceptions will be made if you’re trying to introduce someone else who’s trans to me, or you yourself are trans.
