My psych professor pointed out these kinds of stats to us, and then said that the amazing thing was that no other kind of treatment for anyone with anything was as effective in improving well being.  He said that’s why it’s so important that transgendered individuals have transitioning as an easy to reach option since it’s so wildly effective.

Unfortunately, it’s not quite so easy to reach as we could hope.
