Being a woman will never be trendy.
Wannabe MtFs don’t get away with transtrending because:
1) Just like FtM transtrenders, they would become disillusioned by the reality of having hairy tits.
2) The masculinizing effects of testosterone are irreversible, which means any male aspirant would be stuck with their post-puberty masculine lines which is ~not cute~ meanwhile masculinizing a feminine body/face is much easier, as it is precisely what happens to young boys during puberty.
3) Similarly, feminine features on a boy (FtM) such as a slim or cherubic face and narrow shoulders are ~cute~ while masculine features on a woman (MtF) such as a broad jaw and shoulders and five o’clock shadow are ~gross~
4) The prospect of being recognized as male in public and being treated as worthy of respect is exciting, meanwhile taking on the feminine role loses you the respectful treatment you previously enjoyed as a male.
So there’s much less ~cool factor~ when it happens in reverse, and I think most MtF trender candidates would realize early on they would be making targets of themselves for extremely nasty treatment. The imbalance is caused by the fact that being a woman (especially an “inadequate” woman) is one of the most horrible things on earth for your self-worth and indeed safety. Teenage girls are experiencing this and attempting to escape it, which is completely logical given the conditions.
