So for my Creative Writing class, I’m unsurprisingly doing a short story about an era/world with giant robots.

But the problem I’m facing is coming up with a naming scheme that all the stupid English majors in the class will get. I have all the characters, the faction, the aliens, etc… but I need names for the robots. Basically I need only three:

• Kickass Commander unit
• “Junior officer” unit (like the VF-1J)
• Grunt
• Sweet new Prototype

I went for Greek Mythology at first, but it just felt so contrived. The design aesthetic I’m looking at is halfway between SPT Layzner and Dragonar.
