Salute to the Red, White, and Blue! It’s been confirmed that the other man of steel will be donning the patriotic suit created by Norman Osborne (yes, from Spider-man), though (obviously) neither Osborne nor Spider-man will be making an appearance in the movie.
Kinda makes you wish we lived in an alternate universe where Marvel owned the film rights to ALL of their characters eh?

People got all butthurt about Whiplash when he first appeared and he turned out awesome. Just wait to see the goddamn movie.
Absolutely none of the Iron Patriot story will work in the movie. He legally can’t even be the same character.
Having him the movie would be like the Gundam: The Origin anime replace Garma with Dozle, and Char teams up with him to solve mysteries instead of killing him for revenge.
Or maybe Iron Patriot could have something to do with Hammer.
You’re getting needlessly butthurt. Not everything has to be 100% accurate to what’s in the comics. I’m actually quite interested to see what comes from this, since I have a feeling this’ll be a villain character, or something. I’ve always been a fan of enemy characters that are basically “evil clones” of the good guys. Lazengann, Turn X, Energer Z…
The “evil clones” of Iron Man are Iron Monger and Titanium Man. They did Iron Monger, and it worked. Titanium Man could work. Iron Patriot doesn’t fit that role.
He is supposed to be a villain, and that villain is Norman Osborn. Thus he literally CAN’T be the same character due to Sony’s deal with the rights to Spider-Man. The story with Iron Patriot would require at least a few movies worth of build up to do at all.
They’re just shoving him in the movie for no reason.
Marvel is doing Spider-Man with a character that isn’t Peter Parker and it’s working just fine. It doesn’t have to be the same person in the suit.
Honestly I have enough faith in Marvel to know that it’ll work. They haven’t let us down yet.
