every medicine on the market is like
pros: treats allergies
cons: you might die
UH, EXCUSE ME, THAT IS NOT TRUE. The only drugs out with a risk of death are those where the potential benefit may outweigh the risks, such as in patients with terminal diseases, like cancer. It is more justifiable to treat terminal patients with high risk drugs (assuming the patient/the patient’s medical proxy wishes it) because they will die anyway without the drugs just from the natural progression of the disease. The outcome is still death regardless of the drug, in most cases, so using a drug that might prolong your life but also might kill you (though later than the cancer would kill you) is morally justifiable.
