Agreed. 

Maybe it’s because it has religious elements to it or is really shocking and brutal at times that people think it’s the best. Maybe it’s because the creator of it says it’s his magnum opus.

Either way I don’t like it at all and was yelling at the tv during those last three episodes.

The last one especially. 

Oh yeah, totally. I remember enjoying the first half of EoE (minus a certain masturbation scene…) then wanting to throw stuff at my TV during the second.

I just didn’t like the whole show that much. Maybe it’s because I first saw it when I was at that weird point in my teenage years when I was happy (also I’d just finished all of UC Gundam), but it didn’t have that ~profound impact~ on me most other fans had.

I do recommend the show, sorta, and I understand its place in the genre as a whole (and it’s DAMN FUN in Super Robot Wars). I just cannot come close to considering it ZOMFG BEST EVAR.

Also, Ideon had way more brutal deaths without needing copious amounts of blood. 

I think they could have done a lot better, because it’s a great concept but to me it always came off really preachy and weird. I get it, life is tough, these characters have sucky lives.

But you can’t just put really fucking disturbing imagery juxtaposed against something ‘normal’ and be like LOOK HOW GROUND BREAKING WE ARE. LOOK AT ALL THESE CONTROVERSIAL THINGS. :/

And it probably does appeal to kids going through a really rough unhappy patch of time, but eh. It just never appealed to me, but then again the giant robot genre’s not my thing, save for Big O because it’s awesome.

I guess the stories I wanted to see from Eva were ones that were never going to be told—like, where the fuck the Angels came from, how Kaoru decided to do what he did in becoming human and all of that stuff.

But yeah, give me anything over Eva any day. Even G Gundam, which apparently lots of people hate but I enjoyed.

The only people who hate G-Gundam are stupid people and this has been scientifically proven.
