The ending to the TV series was excusable, as annoying as it was, since the show got axed and he wasn’t able to get the extension he got with Gundam. Stuff like Zeta may have gone several episodes without much happening, but at least what DID happen was still interesting…Sounds like any Tomino-directed show to me really. Zeta would’ve been one of the best anime ever if someone other than Tomino had directed it, since he DOESN’T. GET. PACING. Or know how to end a series (except the original Gundam) /opinions
For example: In one episode they discover the Black Hole inside Ideon’s stomach, and I swear they didn’t bother to follow it up until several episodes later.
