Hormones and surgery are incredibly expensive, not covered by most insurance policies, and trans* people often have to jump through many hoops in order to obtain them.
I’ve noticed many people choose to supplement the income they receive at their job with different fundraising projects in order to afford their transition. Some of these projects are ridiculously creative and are truly admirable entrepreneurial endeavors.
