Since I’m working in customer service, I’m usually on the register because we had a whole crowd of people, and now the crowd is gone. I’ll say, “Sorry, I’m closed,” if I see someone attempting to get in line, but once I had three people I didn’t notice get in line minutes after the last. I just checked them out.

It happens frequently.
